The reduced size of our VSG-4 based capacitive rate sensors, together with support for an industry standard digital SPI® interface provides previously unavailable possibilities for integration into vehicle host systems. The high levels of system integrity achievable using our single package CRG20 gyro, with its inherent support for fault detection and failsafe, make it an ideal choice for the latest 'unbundled' applications – where a centralised or shared sensing platform is implemented in place of having sensors specific to a particular on-board system.

Vehicles continue to be fitted with an increasing number of active and passive safety / driver assistance technologies requiring a rate sensor input.

This in turn is giving rise to a growing trend towards unbundling of sensor applications (often referred to as 'sensor fusion') which presents a host of new challenges for the system integrator and OEM.
