This is a foil strain gauge with a polyimide backing and is designed for measuring stress in the optional direction in a plane stress field. It detects stress in the gauge axial direction regardless of the shearing strain. This gauge is available for three materials: mild/ferritic steel (Poisson's ratio=0.285), stainless steel SUS304 (Poisson's ratio=0.305), and aluminium (Poisson's ratio=0.330).
